Tomatoes

Green Zebra

Green Zebra is a deliciously tangy salad tomato. Fruits weigh 3-4 ounces and are dark green with light yellow stripes that turn golden when ripe. This one is very productive and makes for interesting conversation. Try it with your favorite balsamic vinegar.

 

Juliet Grape Hybrid

This 1999 AAS Winner is famous for yielding the first elongated, grape-like fruits that don't crack. Clusters of glossy red, sweet flavored fruits cling to the vine an extra long time. The plant begins producing in 60 days and continues all season. This one is even better than the grocery store grape tomato.

Roma Paste

Roma Paste is perfect for sauces, pastes, drying, and canning. The red oblong fruits have an excellent taste and texture. Compact vines produce 2-3 inches fruits. Plant height is only 18-28 inches. Roma is a great choice for patio gardens. This tomato matures in 85 days.

Yellow Pear

Although the origin is unknown, Yellow Pear has been documented prior to 1800. The ounce fruits are mild and often used as a garnish or in salads. The plants are extremely vigorous and indeterminate. Fruits mature in 70 days.

Nebraska Wedding

An heirloom from the heartland that produces above-average yields of big apricot-orange fruits with rich, warm yellow flesh.

Grandpa Carl's Red Bird

Grandpa Carl's is our very own family Heirloom Tomato. This tomato was passed down to Carole from her Aunt Carlene. We have saved seeds from this variety for many years and have enjoyed the fruit through all sorts of growing conditions. Fruits are medium red and very tasty. It's reliable and a real keeper!

Siberia

Earliest tomato we have ever offered, 48 days to maturity. A Russian traveler is believed to have smuggled them into Canada in 1975. Siberia is capable of setting fruit at 38 degrees Fahrenheit on sturdy, dark green, small, bushy plants. Fruits are bright red and grow in clusters of up to 30, weigh 3-5 oz. This determinate tomato is a favorite in Alaska.

Abe Lincoln Original

Named after our 16th president, Abe Lincoln is a beautiful dark red tomato. Fruits are smooth, round and free from cracks. It produces large sized tomatoes that ripen all the way through. This makes in excellent for ketchup, juice or slicing. The plant is indeterminate and has bronzy green foliage in certain soils. The fruit matures in 87 days.

Early Girl

A favorite hybrid for its early maturity and full season flavor. Harvest is 57 days. Plants are vigorous and indeterminate so fruits keep coming all summer. Fruits are 4-6 ounces and slightly flattened.

Better Boy Hybrid

A 75 day tomato that produces plump, juicy. deep red fruits. Each fruit weighs about a pound. Plants keep producing all season long. Heavy foliage protects the fruit from sunscald. Better Boy is indeterminate.

Beefmaster Hybrid

80 day Beefsteak with improved disease resistance. Bright red fruits can weigh up to 2 pounds. The indeterminate vine produces high yield of fruits with a good resistance to cracking and splitting.

Brandywine

This is the ben Quisenberry strain of an old Amish favorite. The 16 ounce fruits have deep pink skins with red flesh. The flavor is rich and spicy and may be considered the best tasting of all tomatoes. It is a medium-tall, potato leaf beefsteak that requires staking. Fruits mature in 78 days.

Peppers

King of the North

King of the North is an early sweet bell pepper, maturing in 68 days. Fruits are 6 x 4" in size with thick walls, which makes them great for stuffing. This mild pepper mellows with age while it turns a beautiful bright red.

Nardello Sweet Italian Frying Pepper

This is an Italian sweet frying pepper from the Yakima Valley in Washington. Fruits are 6-8 inches long, tapering to a point. Nardello was voted one of the sweetest non-bell peppers when allowed to mature to red.

Eggplant

Black Beauty

Introduced in 1910, Black Beauty yields 4-6 fruits per plant. Each eggplant weighs 1-3 pounds and has a glossy purple-black skin. Besides their excellent flavor, Black Beauty stores well. Plants grow 18"-24" high and can be grown in containers.
